Tour Plan

Day 01 Arrival

Meet your coach at your selected pick-up point and travel to Belfast to join the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan. On arrival in Scotland, we continue our journey towards the Lake District with a stop at the Gretna Gateway Outlet Village for some free time before arriving at your hotel in Bassenthwaite late afternoon.

Day 02 Explore

Today after breakfast (departure times will be confirmed by your tour manager) join your coach, we’ll start the day visiting Bowness, the Lakes most popular town on the shore of Lake Windermere. Later, proceed over Kirkstone pass – the highest road in the Lakes to Glenridding. Board the steamer for a one-hour cruise on beautiful Lake Ullswater, the second largest Lake in the Lake District. The day continues through picturesque Lakeland fells visiting Grasmere before returning to your hotel.

Day 03 Activities

After breakfast join your coach as we travel to board the Haverthwaite Steam Railway, enjoy the views as it chugs through picturesque Leven Valley to Lake Windermere. Disembark with entry included into the Lakeland Motor Museum, with over 30,000 exhibits including the racing Campbells, of Bluebird fame. Afterwards re-join your coach and travel to Holkers Hall and Gardens – an elegant Victorian house set in 25 acres of beautiful gardens and woodlands near Grange-over-Sands. Afterwards re-join your coach and return to your hotel via Lake Coniston and Ambleside.

Day 04 Exploring

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and take some time for relaxation, take in the Lakeland air, or have a swim in the hotel pool. Late morning departs the hotel to explore the pretty market town of Keswick with free time to explore. Why not discover the fascinating history of an everyday item at the Derwent Pencil Museum (entry fee applies) or visit the Keswick Museum and Art Gallery (entry fee applies) where local artefacts are displayed. Afterward travel to visit the highly rated Lakes Distillery near Lake Bassenthwaite, surrounded by Lakeland fells and woodlands.  Housed in a beautifully refurbished 1850’s Victorian model farm sample the quality of world class gin, vodka, and whisky on your pre-booked guided tour. Afterwards return to your hotel to relax before dinner.

Day 05 End of tour

This morning after an leisurely breakfast and checking out (departure times will be confirmed by your tour manager), join your coach and travel to visit Carlisle to enjoy some free time to explore the border town packed with history and heritage aplenty with its Castle and Cathedral. Early afternoon (departure times will be confirmed by your tour manager) we will depart Carlisle and make our way to the port of Cairnryan to join the evening ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival, you return to your original joining point.
